In Norse mythology, Ragnarok is a series of apocalyptic events that will determine the end of the world. The giants of ice and fire will join forces to fight the gods in a battle that will destroy the planet.
The world that was destroyed will appear again. The surviving gods will meet and the world will be populated again by the survivors.
Norse mythology is divided into two major groups, namely the Aesir and Vanir gods. They live in Jötunheimr, one of the nine Norse cosmological worlds, previously occupied by giants.
They were banished there by Aesir, after refusing to enter Asgard.

In ancient Nordic stories, the giants often interacted with Aesirs and Vanirs, but they usually clashed or competed with them.
Like the doomsday story in Christianity, Ragnarok has a series of signs that will ultimately determine the end of time.
The first sign is Fimbulvetr, a long, continuous winter that lasts for a year. The red chicken named Fjalar will warn the giants that Ragnarok has started.
The second rooster will warn all the dead that Ragnarok has started. Then there is the third red rooster living in Asgard named Gullinkambi, who will warn all the gods about the beginning of the end.
Lord Heimdallr will use his trumpet to play a special tune that will be heard in Valhalla, and this will bring the dead back to life and they will march into the realm called Vigrid (the place of battle) as the place of the final battle.

The oceans will be torn apart and a snake so large, its size that it can encircle the earth and grip its own tail, will rise from the deep to join the battle.
The gods Baldr and Hod will also return from the dead to fight this final battle.
Humans, in the Ragnarok doomsday story, are victims of war by the gods as in Hindu mythology, about the story of avatars and humans on horses.
Doomsday Ragnarok is different from Abrahamic teachings, where humans are punished on "Judgment Day".
